Back to School 2013-2014

Parents, guardians and their children are making last minute touches for the 2013-2014 school year. The market and streets of Kumba are packed with human beings and all sorts of school items ranging from school bags to shoes, uniforms, books and many other things that will make the school year go hitch free.Parents and guardians are also making sure that  fees and other monetary allocations are made wherever necessary . The commonwealth  Avenue in Kumba that harbours the  main market happens to be one of those over crowded areas in the city of Kumba these past days, as many parents are still involved with the buying of school needs for their children.

Book vendors and vendors of other school materials say there is still enough time for parents to purchase school items for they have not yet exhausted the stock they have.

After the parents have played their part to ensure their children’s back to school for the 2013/2014 academic year, it is left for the pupils and students to now concentrate on their studies as they  resumed classes today.

Holiday is over

The 2012/2013 holiday period is over which definitely marks the resumption of the academic year 2013/2014. During the holiday period, it was being characterized by students going for holidays to other towns and villages, while others were seriously into business. Those who were into businesses were simply helping their parents to buy their school needs for the next academic year, said by one of them. This therefor means that schools while resume on the 2nd of September 2013 and we again realize that during this last week of the holiday parents and student are seriously into buying school needs.

KUMA had a meeting with the DJs in Kumba

KUMA (Kumba Urban Music Association) held another meeting with the DJs in Kumba. The purpose of the meeting was to know about the their worries, that is to Know why they do not always play Cameroon( especially based artists in  Kumba) music in their various place of duty like snacks, bars, night clubs, TV and radio stations which links with the Taking over concept, but rather  they mostly play foreign musics.

one of the DJs, DJ Bisou makes his point

Some said they don’t usually play it because most music especially for the youth don’t always have good quality sound to be played, others said they are too proud and think they are already stars and others again say that they don’t come to them for promotion and if they don’t come they will not know their music and therefore cannot be played

another DJ from Paso Palace makes his point

In talking about their worries, these facts will definitely help these artist and aspiring ones to work hard in able for their music to go greater height. KUMA hold their meetings from now on every Wednesdays at Sawa Lambo so as for them to be one and in peace in the city of Kumba.
