The chief medical officer for the kumba Health District, Dr Orock Bate Joseph has denied the rumors that  the much publicized distribution of mosquito nets as been shelved.

The medic acknowledged receiving hints that the kumba population was spoiling for strike against the non distribution of the mosquito nets, adding that the distribution of the mosquito net has not been shelved, but predicated on the desire of the government to simultaneously carry out the exercise in the SouthWest Region.

The medic further posited that the simultaneous distribution of the nets, would forestall a person in kumba for example to carry the net for sale in a place like Akwaya. The medic further highlighted the high cost of transportation as just another reason for the delay in the distribution. Descending down to detail Dr. Bate pointed out that certain transporters have  offered  to ferry 50 nets for 35000frs to a remote area in Konye Sub Division adding that the amount they have cannot afford such cost. Dr Orock Bate Joseph , was speaking while preparing to move to his new posting in Konye District hospital. The mosquito nets were donated by an International NGO known as Global Fund with Ministry of public health acting as overseers or supervisors.
