Youths in kumba Urged to stop Violence.

Youths in Kumba have been shortlisted for championing destructive violence and lootings. This scathing comment was contained in an interview granted Kumba Day and Night by the Kumba 1 Sub Divisional Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) President Sebastian Agbor Besong. Sebastian Agbor was speaking to Kumba Day and Night after a meeting to draw down modalities to plan for non violent workshops for youths in Kumba1 Sub Division.

The Kumba 1 CNYC President further told Kumba Day and Night that most of the Violence and lootings in Kumba in general has been championed by the youths, reason the CNYC has ear marked a series of workshops to educate the youths on responsible behavior and to refrain from violent behaviours.

Also, he said the problems of youths cannot be solved through violence, but by channeling these problems to what he termed appropriate quarters. President Sebastian Besong said violence leaves in its wake a trail of destructions. Highlighting the February 2008 Nationwide strike over fuel hikes in which several official buildings were destroyed, amongst them buildings housing the Ministries of Basic and Secondary Education in Kumba. He pointed out that most youths in Kumba who lost their First School Certificates in the fire are compelled to travel to Buea or Yaounde for their certificates or other documents
