Californian collaborators suggest cocoa transforming machine for kumba

Lovers of chocolate and cocoa farmers in Meme division would soon have a sigh of relief following the soon installation of a cocoa transformation machine. This welcome news by the Mayor of the Kumba 1 council, Prince Ekale Mukete in a meeting between Kumba 1 and students from Southern California in the United State that took place on Friday 16 December 2011 at the Divisional Delegation of Agriculture and Rural Development for Meme in Kumba.

It brought together over 50 farmers and representatives from Common Initiative Groups (CIG) from five Sub-Divisions that make up Meme. Speaking unscripted Prince Ekale said the meeting was as a result of the collaboration between the Kumba 1 and the Business school of the University of Southern California who will help to bring possible solutions on cocoa transformation in meme. He said the institution all started two years ago when some students of that American institution carried out some intensive research work in the council with the overall aim of finding ways to assist help Kumba 1 municipality

Featuring prominently among the two, in Prince Ekale’ speech over cocoa, soap making and cassava processing was mentioned. He further stressed on that though the projects seem mammoth, they are not in surmount able and went on to launch a ringing appeal for the meeting attendees to take volunteers roles and bring up suggestions that would hasten the quick realization of these projects when it would be kicked up.

The three collaborators from Southern California listened passionately and addressed the worries of the participants. At the end of the meeting the Mayor conducted the collaborators to the Senior Divisional Office, where they were received by the Second Assistant, Nelson Yonkuma who lauded the initiative of the mayor of Kumba 1 and went on to appreciate the American collaborators for their project. The meeting came to an end when the American collaborators had to visit some cocoa farms at Kake 2 and Kossala respectively.
