Women of Kumba joined their counterparts worldwide to celebrate the international day of the woman. Celebrating under the theme Empower Rural Women to eradicate hunger and poverty, the 27th edition of the women’s day was a huge success in Kumba.

Under the patronage of the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Koulbout Aman David, women of all works of life answered present to celebrate this great day which realizes a woman as the backbone of the society.  This year’s celebration aims at improving the status of women in all spheres, eradicating and eliminating discrimination against them.

This year’s celebration was characterized with dancing, singing and match pass. The Zangalawa women could not be under emphasized this year. They came out and presented a thrilling performance to the amusement of all who answered present.

Certificates of recognition were also awarded to some deserving women of the Division. This year’s celebration was a successful one as till now; we are yet to hear of any case of misbehavior on the part of any woman. Pictures of the celebration below.
