One of the Board members of the Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) Dorothy Limunga Njeuma has said ‘elections is not a war” she was speaking on the occasion of an enlarged working session on electoral process that took place at the conference hall of the Kumba City Council on Tuesday may 8th . “Elections are the exercise of a person’s civic responsibility” Njeuma asserted. She added that the upcoming elections should be conducted in peace and tranquility. Madam Njeuma, was also accompanied by another board chair member, Mr. Christopher Tambe Tiku. The meeting was aimed at precipitating on the need to sensitize the Meme population on the recent introduction of the biometric electoral system which according to her is aimed at building a genuine democratic system in Cameroon. Devoid of flaws as evidenced in the previous elections she added that the bio metric system will mitigate electoral flaws. The commission took time off, and elaborately sensitized the population on the biometric electoral system. Attending the meeting were the leaders of all political parties represented in Meme In her closing remark, Madam Njeuma appealed to all the political parties to mobilize their militants to register when the registration begins sometime in July.
