Christians of the Presbyterian Church Kumba Town have been told to do everything possible to enable their pastor to succeed in carrying out the work of God. The moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Reverend Doctor Festus A. Asana, made this appeal on the occasion of the induction of Rev. David King Njie as the Secretary of the Presbyterian Church Kumba Presbytery, cautioning the audience he said, “Don’t frustrate him let him do his work as directed by the Holy Spirit.” Adding that human interference in the work of the man of God would lead to divisions in the church. The moderator also dwelled on the various gifts of the spirit like prophecy, speaking in tongues teaching and healing. Since the occasion coincided with Pentecost Sunday.

Talking to Kumba day and night, Rev Dr. Asana revealed that he came to Kumba solely for the induction ceremony of Rev. David King. Adding that induction is the churches equivalent of the secular society‘s installation wherein an official is introduced to the public and the people he has to work with. Rev. David King also revealed that his induction is the highest point in his life and he would introduce no new changes to the Presbytery, but will happily continue from where his predecessor left off.

The Reverend David King Njie is a  Bafaw native, born in 1955 in Mambanda. He is married and a father of five. Presently, Rev. David King is the parish pastor of the Presbyterian Church Kumba Town
