The 8th edition of the bilingualism week in Cameroon was officially launched on the 28th of January by the Secretary of State in charge of Teachers Training Education at the Ministry of Secondary Education,Mounouna Foutsou. The official commemoration took place on Friday February 1st 2013 in all the schools of Cameroon.Kumba day and night visited some schools in Kumba  like CCAS Kumba,KUCAS and others to see how the day was commemorated under the theme ‘Bilingualism,A Cornerstone of Professionalism for An Emerging Cameroon.’

From every activity:balet, choral singing, dancing, quiz, bras de fer, sktches on the importance of bilingualism to Cameroonians among others,it was very obvious that the Cameroonian child today is being trained to be the real Cameroonian he oughts to be.This is seen in the schools’ curricilum as alm, almost if not all subjects are taught in both English and French as early as the nursery school level. But the big question is;what about those students who run away from French classes for anglophones and from English classes for francophones.Nonetheless,it does not change the fact that our Country just like Canada is a bilingual one. After all,the day was commemorated.Happy Bilingualism Day dear Cameroonians.
